Specializing in: General Adult Psychiatry. Medication Management and Brief Psychotherapy. Psychiatric issues for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community. Psychiatric issues for people living with HIV / AIDS.
Education: Dr. Jacobson received his Bachelor of Science degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas in 1996. In 2000, he graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Medical School and received his Doctor of Medicine degree.
In 2001, he completed his internship at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, Department of Family and Community Medicine in Odessa, Texas. He subsequently entered into the residency program at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Department of Psychiatry (UTHSCSA). During his senior year, he served as the Assistant Chief Resident of the UTHSCSA Psychiatry Residency Program and graduated in June 2005.
Licensing: Dr. Jacobson is licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. He is Board Eligible for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Organizations: Dr. Jacobson has professional memberships in: Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists Bexar County Psychiatric Society
Affiliations: He is Medical Director at the Alamo Area Resource Center, a contracted service provider of Bexar County’s Ryan White CARE Act of 1990 Title I Program, with funding received from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
He has admitting privileges with the Methodist Healthcare System and is Medical Director for the Psychiatric Assessment Team and Advance Nurse Practitioners.
He is a Clinical Instructor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Department of Psychiatry.
